I've discovered that if you install the KB3121212 on Windows 7 (only tested on x64), starting a virtual machine in Virtual PC 2007 (including SP1) will cause the whole PC to crash either with a Blue Screen, or a hard freeze.
Removing the update however fixes running virtual machines.

What about Windows Virtual PC (i. e. that XP virtual machine included with Windows 7)? Would be surprised if Microsoft broke that too since it's an official system component.
Also, does the update break MS VPC on Windows 8.1? Can anyone check that?

Well, that update refused to install on my OS, I had already installed VPC - I have hidden that update.
