The Chex Quest story

Post by IronmanR »

Chex Quest was my favorite DOS game, mainly because it was fun. I first played it in 2004. It was fun. I wish they still made releases. But, enough talk, let's get to it. It was planned when the company that made Chex cereal asked Digital Cafe (which no longer exists) to make a game they could include in their Chex cereal. iD Software licensed Doom to them, but the company that made Chex wondered how they could turn a violent game like Doom to one rated "E". They had a "zorch them back to their dimension" thing planned, and that's how it went through. I don't have very much more info on it, though, so if you please, tell me some more info.

A while ago I did some research on the development history of this game and summarised it here. There are some links to sources which you might find interesting.

Still the best toy I've ever gotten from a cereal box.
