Re: STOP Error 7b installing Longhorn 5048
7B is an inaccessible boot disk, so yeh, stop with the SCSI/SATA on VMWare/Real PC.
Re: STOP Error 7b installing Longhorn 5048
Yeah I was using SATA.. So there's three problem. Is there any builds of longhorn that are compatable with SATA?

Re: STOP Error 7b installing Longhorn 5048
I would assume that they are all compatible with SATA, the problem here is you need to integrate your SATA drivers into the installation media, I know you can do that with XP using nLite, but I don't know how you would do it with Longhorn...

Re: STOP Error 7b installing Longhorn 5048
If this build is close to XP, nlite will properly work, if its more towards vista am not sure.
Re: STOP Error 7b installing Longhorn 5048
nLite won't work on any Longhorn/Vista build using the WIM setup (no matter it's pre-reset or post-reset). It's designed for the i386 setup.

Well, my suggestion is this: try using IDE with Windows Longhorn builds. I use IDE with most betas and abandonware operating systems.ratsrock2323 wrote:Yeah I was using SATA.. So there's three problem. Is there any builds of longhorn that are compatable with SATA?

Or you could try and find some xp sata/scsi drivers for your hardware and load them during setup by pressing F6 when prompted, that's how I do it since I can't switch to IDE mode.
If you don't have a floppy drive give USBKeyPrepF6 a shot (might not work properly on Windows7).

Re: STOP Error 7b installing Longhorn 5048
Windows Vista beta 1 and above is compatible with SATA
Re: STOP Error 7b installing Longhorn 5048
try it in vmware player and set hdd as ide, it will work.
Re: STOP Error 7b installing Longhorn 5048
Alright that makes more sense... So is there a possibility longhorn packet could be used to fix this?

Re: STOP Error 7b installing Longhorn 5048
Why don't you just switch from AHCI to Compatibility/IDE mode in your BIOS? Pretty sure 99% of computers have that option
If you insist on having SATA your best go will be trying to somehow integrate drivers into the PE image.
And no, Longhorn Packet won't fix this as it is based on 4033 though I am working on my own one based on 6002, still not fully done yet but if you want a link, PM me as that supports SATA out of box and you can then use the load driver button in 5048 setup to install the proper one for you afaik (asuming you have it by hand)

Try using VirtualBox and make sure you are using an IDE disk.
