Leaked MSU Files to Update Windows 8.1 to Build 16610

Post by MrUTB »

Wzor has tweeted that Bill Gates (?) (LOL :P ) shared some MSU files that update your 8.1 Copy in a previous build of Update 1. All this, because He could to install Update 1 on his PC after a loooooooooong work trying to install it yesterday.

The buildstring is 6.3.9600.16608.WINBLUES14_GDR_LEAN.140130-2030 and Wzor share a pic about the installation process:

So guys! I'm, like you, waiting for this new leak!

Ok so since it's a "RTM Escrow" build, will the final update install over it again, or will it mess up the 8.1 RTM installation/activation?
(assumptions ok since this info might be unknown, unless if a similar scenario played out with tests anyone has done.)
Oh hello there.

LOL BILL GATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW IRONIC...

Okay, so back to topic: Do you guys have the .msu file? I want to try installing it on a newly installed Windows 6.3.9600.16596.

By the way, did you guys see the new slmgr.vbs /dlv dialogue?

No? I've installed the latest leak on actual hardware, but I haven't "dug to deep" into it yet, I just wanted to check out how the new metro title bars worked :P
Oh hello there.

notice that Wzor doesn't recommend to install in work or home PC, only for test purposes.

Installed fine on my mac mini running 8.1 Enterprise, as expected.
Windows Defender for great justice! Bugs are an international trading company. I need to defeat the anti-debugging and obfuscation methods. It wasn't for Intel's absurd ability to load in ie6. Why even waste time with people in an envelope?

Ended up installing this over my main Win 8.1 install on my laptop, so far so good :) The only issue I have found is stuttering animations for the taskbar when you are in a metro app. It comes up as it should, but then if you launch a desktop program, it switches to the desktop and during this transition, it hides the taskbar and it stays hidden even though I don't have "auto-hide" checked. I'm sure that's something that could be fixed but its really not a huge deal breaker.

This probably is different between computers, but I also noticed that certain apps launch almost instantly now, i.e. The Store. Also did the animation from going start screen to desktop change? Something about it seems interesting, but I probably did not pay too much attention to it before in 8.1.0.
Offtopic Comment
Is it possible that OP could change title to something like this: [LEAK] Windows 8.1 Update 1 RTM Escrow I know there is already another topic like this, but since this one has the most replies and it was the first post to have the links, I would imagine that the others would be locked or removed*if possible.
Oh hello there.
