Windows Vista/6.0.5219.winmain idx02.050830-2010

From BetaArchive Wiki

Windows Vista build 5219 is the first post-reset build leaked that contains the sidebar but has to be download separately. It is very difficult to get the gadgets to run on the sidebar. Experimented in pre-reset builds, the sidebar was implemented up until the Vista RTM due to high demand.

This was among the earliest builds to use the Windows Vista logo within the About Windows dialog box, with a somewhat gradient and slightly flamboyant green background, and a wholely white Windows flag logo, along with Windows text of the same tone of color, as opposed to the old Longhorn logo used from the 405x builds up to at least as far as Build 5112, if not even later.

There were also further updates to Aero Glass in this build, not to mention that this build was even distributed among two thousand and five PDC (Professional Developers Conference) attendants on September 13th, 2005, having also been released to Microsoft beta testers and MSDN (Microsoft Developer Network) subscribers).

This was also the first known build in which an Ultimate variant of it was compiled, not to mention that it also included Super Fetch.

As said above, the Windows Sidebar, much to the surprise of everyone, was reimplemented by the time this build was compiled, despite being notably absent in the earlier builds compiled after the reset occured.

This build was also among the first to introduce Desktop Gadgets, both of which are part of the Microsoft gadgets line of mini-applications, as well as a new version of Windows Media Center, codenamed "Diamond".

Despite Microsoft's decision to later remove WinFS from Windows Vista, certain people testing this build noted that WinFS was still implemented in this build, misleading people to believe that it was still to be released as part of Windows Vista upon the RTM build's compilation and eventual product release.

No matter what you do to try and install drivers from XP or Vista on Vista build 5219, it will never work. It will always say "An error has occurred."

A 64 bit version of this build is avaliable for download as well.
