Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE or WinPE) is a lightweight version of Windows that is traditionally used to prepare for Windows deployment and for troubleshooting. The latest release is 10.0.17763.0, built from Windows 10 v1809 code base. It is intended to replace DOS boot disks and can be booted using a USB drive, PXE, iPXE, CD-ROM, or hard disk.
