"There are some cases when the Windows Basic theme appears because of an issue in DWM." What are these cases, and what is this issue? (Maza (talk) 21:42, 5 July 2013 (GMT))

Well, "issue" isn't the good term to describe this. Here are some cases when it appears:
1. Windows PE - it doesn't have DWM, so Windows uses the Basic theme.
2. MDI child forms - for some reason they also use the Basic theme.
(3. Broken theme - a BA user tested Developer Preview theme on the Release Preview, and Windows permanently switched to the Basic theme. (on RTM, the theme breaks the Windows installation))

Do keep in mind that you were the first person to use the term "issue". From what I have read, MDI child forms do not use Aero effects in other versions of Windows, so this is not version specific. Thank you. Maza (talk) 03:30, 11 July 2013 (GMT)
