SYMPTOMS
When you use Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 to archive instant messaging information, the Archiving feature in Office Communications Server 2007 may create a duplicate log entry for a single instant message. When this problem occurs, the message ID of the duplicate log entry differs from the message ID of the original log entry.

To resolve this problem, install the hotfix that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
945055 Description of the update package for Communications Server 2007 and for Communications Server 2007 Archiving and CDR Server: November 30, 2007
Hotfix installation information
The 945055 hotfix package contains the following update packages:
- OCS2007-KB945055-x86-Server.msp
- OCS2007-KB945055-x86-ArchService.msp
To install this hotfix, install the OCS2007-KB945055-x86-Server.msp package on the following computers:
- Each computer that is running Office Communications Server 2007 Standard Edition
- Each computer that has Office Communications Server 2007 Enterprise Edition configured to use one of the following roles:
- Front-End (FE) Server
- Proxy Server
- Director Server
- Edge Server
Install the OCS2007-KB945055-x86-ArchService.msp package on each Office Communications Server 2007 Enterprise Edition server that is configured to use the "Archiving and Call Detail Records (CDR) Server" role.
STATUS
