STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

MORE INFORMATION

Before you apply this hotfix, only one time-out setting exists. After you apply this hotfix, a new time-out setting is added. Therefore, two time-out settings exist.

The typical SOAP operations use the original time-out setting. By default, the value of the original time-out setting is 1 minute.

The SOAP operations that use the WebDAV component to upload files and to download files use the new time-out setting. By default, the value of the new time-out setting is 2 hours.

To configure the time-out settings, create the following registry entry, and then adjust the following registry entry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SourceSafe\Timeout

The original time-out setting is a DWORD value that is expressed in milliseconds. By default, the new time-out setting is 120 times the original time-out setting.
