SYMPTOMS
After you apply hotfix 931978 or security update 931832 (MS07-026) to a server that is running Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1), you experience one or more of the following symptoms
Some messages remain in the local delivery queue on the Exchange 2003 server. Additionally, the following event is logged in the Application log:
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MSExchangeTransport
Event Category: Exchange Store Driver
Event ID: 327
Description: The following call : EcLocallyDeliverMsg to the store failed. Error code : -2147024809 (Message-ID<xxxx>
). MDB :xxxx
. FID :xxxx
- Some messages in the Inbox or in other folders cannot be opened.
- If you move a mailbox, the From lines of some messages in that mailbox are lost.

There are no prerequisites for installing this hotfix. However, the following services are automatically restarted when you apply the hotfix:
- The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service
- The Microsoft Search service
- The IIS Admin Service and all dependent services
