INTRODUCTION

This article describes some frequently asked questions about interoperability between ProClarity products and Microsoft SharePoint products.

Three ProClarity products interact with Microsoft Windows SharePoint Portal Server 2003 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. These products integrate and interact with SharePoint at many different levels to provide great value and functionality. However, some combinations and configurations are not fully supported.

The instructions in this article help you maximize the flexibility and the functionality of both supported configurations and unsupported configurations.

Q1: What ProClarity products are involved?

A1: The following ProClarity products are involved:

  • ProClarity Analytics Server (PAS)
  • ProClarity Dashboard Server
  • The ProClarity for SharePoint Portal Server Web part

Q2: What SharePoint products are involved?

A2: The following SharePoint products are involved:

  • SharePoint Portal Server 2003
  • SharePoint Server 2007
  • Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0
  • Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 2.0

Q3: What is supported?

A3: Both SharePoint Portal Server 2003 and SharePoint Server 2007 can display PAS Standard client views. To do this, use one of the following Web parts:

  • The SharePoint page viewer Web part
  • The ProClarity for SharePoint Portal Server Web part

Q4: What is not supported?

A4: You cannot install both PAS and ProClarity Dashboard Server on the same computer when the computer is running a Windows-based server. The ProClarity for SharePoint Portal Server Web part cannot interoperate with ProClarity 6.2 and with SharePoint Server 2007.

Q5: Which versions of the ProClarity for SharePoint Portal Server Web part, PAS, or both are supported with SharePoint?

A5: All versions of PAS can use a page viewer Web part to display a URL in all versions of SharePoint. The ProClarity for SharePoint Portal Server Web part interacts better with SharePoint than PAS. Two new versions of the ProClarity for SharePoint Portal Server Web part are now available. The following three versions of the Web part are available:

  • An earlier version of the ProClarity for SharePoint Portal Server Web part

This version supports ProClarity 6.2 or earlier versions of ProClarity. Additionally, this version interoperates with SharePoint Portal Server 2003.

  • ProClarity for SharePoint Portal Server Web part version 6.2

This version is compatible with ProClarity 6.3 and SharePoint Portal Server 2003.

  • ProClarity for SharePoint Portal Server Web part version 6.3

This version supports ProClarity 6.3 and SharePoint Server 2007.
