SYMPTOMS

When you try to add a user as an optional attendee or as a required attendee to an appointment in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, you receive the following error message:

You do not have enough privileges to access the Microsoft CRM object or perform the requested operation. For more information, contact your system administrator.
General Failure in scheduling engine.
Access Is Denied.

This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:

  • The user whom you try to add is not the owner of the appointment.
  • The user whom you try to add does not have sufficient permissions to attend the appointment.


RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next service pack that contains this hotfix.

Installation information

Removal information

To remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows XP, or Microsoft Windows 2000, use the Add or Remove Programs item in Control Panel. System administrators can use the Spuninst.exe tool to remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, or Windows 2000.

The Spuninst.exe tool is located in the %Windir%\$NTUninstallKB933884$\Spuninst folder.You cannot remove this hotfix.
