Beginning in the year 2007, DST is extended in the United States and in some additional countries and regions around the world. In 2007 and in later years, the new DST period will be three or four weeks longer than the DST period was in earlier years. This depends on the year. The start date and end date for DST are listed as follows:
- DST starts in the second week of March. In 2007, DST starts on March 11. This start date is three weeks earlier than the start date that was used in earlier years.
- DST ends in the first week of November. In 2007, DST ends on November 4. This end date is one week later than the end date that was used in earlier years.
These changes to DST may affect the time stamps of file properties in Windows operating systems.
