The Zune device turns off when you are using it

SYMPTOMS

When you are using the Zune device, the device turns off. If you were listening to music, you can no longer hear the music.

CAUSE

Typically, this behavior occurs if the battery in the Zune device is depleted.

THINGS TO TRY

  1. Make sure that the backlight for the screen did not turn off with the Hold switch in the locked position. To do this, move the Hold switch to the unlocked position.

    Note To make sure that the Hold switch is in the unlocked position, you may have to move the switch back and forth until the switch is in the correct position.

  2. Charge the Zune device.

  3. Update the firmware on the Zune device to the latest version.
