ID: Q93350

1.02 2.00 2.5x 2.60 2.60a | 2.5x 2.60 2.60a 3.00 | 2.5x 2.60a

MS-DOS                    | WINDOWS              | MACINTOSH

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Visual FoxPro for Windows, version 3.0
  • Microsoft FoxPro for MS-DOS, versions 1.02, 2.0, 2.5x, 2.6, 2.6a
  • Microsoft FoxPro for Windows, versions 2.5x, 2.6, 2.6a
  • Microsoft FoxPro for Macintosh, versions 2.5x, 2.6a

The BROWSE command activates a table view of records in a database. The BROWSE command, without any parameters, allows the user to add, delete, and edit records in a tabular view of the currently active database file. In the tabular view, records are displayed as rows, and fields as columns.

The following sample application uses a Browse window to validate and update database fields:

   USE c:\foxpro2\tutorial\detail
   BROWSE FIELDS qty:v=replaceit(), price:v=replaceit(), ltotal ;
   VALID replaceit()

   PROCEDURE replaceit
   REPLACE ltotal with qty * price
