The hotfix that is discussed in this article is not available for the Chinese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or for the Japanese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

SYMPTOMS

When you import a relationship role customization from one Microsoft Dynamics CRM server to another Microsoft Dynamics CRM server, you receive the following error message:

A record with these values already exists. A duplicate record cannot be created. Select one or more unique values and try again.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the same relationship role already exists on the other Microsoft Dynamics CRM server.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next service pack that contains this hotfix.
