SYMPTOMS
In Windows Vista, when you click a folder to open it in the All Programs list, the folder does not open. This problem occurs only when you try to open certain folders by using the Vista Start menu.
This problem occurs if the folder is stored in one of the following locations:
Drive
:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Folder Name
Drive
:\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Folder Name
Note Drive
represents the letter of the Windows Vista system drive. Folder Name
represents the name of the folder that you want to open.
This problem does not occur when the folder that you want to open is stored in either of the following locations:
Drive
:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Folder Name
Drive
:\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Folder Name
Note Drive
represents the letter of the Windows Vista system drive. Folder Name
represents the name of the folder that you want to open.
