SYMPTOMS
After you install Microsoft Windows Media Player 11 on a computer that uses Microsoft Windows Media Encoder 9 Series, the encoder cannot use the Microsoft Windows Media Audio 9 Voice codec. When you try to encode a stream by using the Windows Media Audio 9 Voice codec, you receive the following error message:
CAUSE
The encoder shares some DLLs with the Microsoft Windows Media Format 11 Software Development Kit (SDK) Runtime that is installed when you install Windows Media Player 11. An updated component provides more data than the Windows Media Audio 9 Voice codec expects.

Steps to reproduce the problem
- On a computer that is running Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), install Windows Media Encoder 9 Series.
- Try to encode a stream by using the Windows Media Audio 9 Voice codec.
You can encode the stream.
- Install Windows Media Player 11.
- Try to encode a stream by using the Windows Media Audio 9 Voice codec.
You receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section.
