SYMPTOMS

You have a Microsoft ASP.NET application or a Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) application. You use the application to access Microsoft Visual FoxPro data by using the Visual FoxPro OLE DB Provider. If the application runs from multiple threads, you may receive one of the following error messages:

Error message 1


Command contains unrecognized phrase/keyword.

Error message 2


Unrecognized command verb.

Error message 3


Duplicate field names.

Error message 4


Column 'ColumnName' is not found.

Note ColumnName represents the column name.

Error message 5


Unable to validate data.

Error message 6


Syntax error.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because one component of the Visual FoxPro OLE DB Provider is not thread safe.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. You must have Visual FoxPro 9, Visual FoxPro 9 Service Pack 1 (SP1), or Visual FoxPro 9 OLE DB Provider installed to apply this hotfix.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.
