SYMPTOMS
When you try to set the value of the IVSSItem.AutoDetectEncoding property to "false" in Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 2005, you receive the following error message if the item is checked out:

This hotfix updates the Visual SourceSafe 2005 automation interface. After you apply the hotfix, you can set the value of the IVSSItem.AutoDetectEncoding property to "false" when an item is checked out.
Note When you use an automation interface to check in changes in Visual SourceSafe 2005, the operation may fail if the value of the IVSSItem.AutoDetectEncoding property is set to "true."
