SYMPTOMS

When you start the Sony VAIO Camera Capture Utility (VCCU) on a Windows Vista-based computer, you may experience any of the following symptoms:

  • The camera preview feature displays a blue screen that contains no video from the camera.
  • The camera preview feature displays a black screen.
  • The Sony VAIO Camera Utility does not automatically start as expected when you start the VCCU.


RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, exit the VCCU utility, and then restart it. Or, exit the VCCU utility, and then restart the computer.
