== SYMPTOMS ==

When you create an address list in Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, distribution groups that match the filter that you use do not appear in the '''Address List Preview''' dialog box. However, if you view the properties of the distribution group in the Exchange Management Shell, the address list that you created is listed in the '''AddressListMembership''' attribute.

== CAUSE ==

This issue occurs if the '''Group Scope''' setting for the distribution group is set to '''Global''' or '''Domain Local''' in the Active Directory Users and Computers MMC snap-in.

== WORKAROUND ==

To work around this issue, convert the distribution group that you want to see in the '''Address List Preview''' dialog box to a universal group. To do this, right-click the disribution group in the Exchange Management Console, and then click '''Convert to Universal Group'''.
