Error message when you try to start an application in Microsoft SoftGrid: "Error code: xxxxxx-xxxxxx44-00000028"

SYMPTOMS

When you try to start an application in Microsoft SoftGrid, you receive the following error message:

The SoftGrid Client could not launch the application you requested.
The OSD file contains a CODEBASE element with an invalid GUID attribute. Please report the following error code to your System Administrator.
Error code: xxxxxx-xxxxxx44-00000028

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the GUID attribute of the CODEBASE element in the .osd file is not valid.

Note This error code should not occur unless the .osd file was incorrectly modified.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, use one of the following methods:

  • Copy the GUID attribute of the CODEBASE element from a working .osd file of the same sequence. Then, paste the attribute to the problem .osd file.
  • Open the sequence with the Sequencer. Then, run the Shortcut Wizard to create new a .osd file.
