Error message when you try to install the SoftGrid Client: "Error 1327.Invalid Drive Q:\"

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install Microsoft SoftGrid, the program does not respond and you receive the following error message:

Error 1327.Invalid Drive Q:\

MORE INFORMATION

This problem can occur if the following condition is true:

  • The Q drive letter was assigned to a partition when the SoftGrid Client installation program was started. While the installation program was displayed, the Q partition was reassigned a different drive letter. This action occurred so that the Q drive letter would be available to the installation program.


WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, cancel and then restart the SoftGrid Client installation program. This action will cause the installation program to continue past the previous point of failure.
