SYMPTOMS
On a computer that is running the Desktop Standard PolicyMaker Client, an error message that resembles the following is logged in the Application log:
Note GPO name
represents the display name of the Group Policy object (GPO). GUID
represents the GUID of the GPO.
CAUSE
This issue occurs because the license in the GPO is for an earlier version of Policy Maker Standard Edition. The PolicyMaker client-side extension (CSE) checks for a valid license in the GPO. If the PolicyMaker CSE detects that the license is for an earlier version of PolicyMaker, the PolicyMaker CSE reports an error.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, replace the license in the GPO by using a license that is valid for the current version of PolicyMaker Standard Edition. Then, update the GPO.
