Error message in Profile Maker when you try to apply the User Filter to a GPO: “(0x80070057) The parameter is incorrect”

SYMPTOMS

When you try to apply the User Filter in Profile Maker to a Group Policy object (GPO), you receive the following error message:

(0x80070057) The parameter is incorrect.

This issue occurs if the Match by SID check box in the User Filter dialog box is not selected.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the Profile Maker client supports filter groups only by using a security identifier (SID) in the User Filter.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, click to select the Match by SID check box in the User Filter dialog box.
