INTRODUCTION
This article describes how to enable tracing in Desktop Solutions GPOVault Enterprise 2.0.
MORE INFORMATION
You can use detailed trace information to help speed up the resolution of problems that might occur in GPOVault Enterprise 2.0. The detailed trace information can be written to the file system. By default, tracing is disabled in GPOVault Enterprise 2.0.
To enable tracing, create a new registry entry under the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\DesktopStandard\GPOVault
Use the following information in the new registry entry.
Entry | Type | Value |
TraceLevel | REG_DWORD | 0 through 4 |
The meanings of the values are as follows:
- 0: No tracing
- 1: Trace errors
- 2: Trace errors and warnings
- 3: Trace errors, warnings, and general information
- 4: Trace all information
After you create the registry entry, you must restart the Group Policy Management Console (GPMC). You must also restart the GPOVault Service in GPOVault Enterprise.
The GPOVault trace file is located in the following location:
%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\DesktopStandard\GPOVault\Gpovault.log
