Article Last Modified on 2/1/2007

APPLIES TO

  • PolicyMaker Standard Edition 2.0
  • PolicyMaker Standard Edition 1.0

SYMPTOMS

When you try to apply the PolicyMaker Professional Licensing machine policy on a Microsoft Windows-based computer that has PolicyMaker Standard Edition installed, the following error message may be logged in the Application log:

The machine policy "Policy Maker Professional Licensing" in "<GPO Name> {GPO GUID}" was not applied because it failed with error code 0x8601200c.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because an old version of the PolicyMaker "licensing client-side extensions" (CSEs) is used to read a license that contains an application security element.

Note You should use version 1.0.2.236 or a later version of PolicyMaker licensing CSEs to correctly read the license.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, upgrade to latest version of PolicyMaker Standard Edition. This updates the Polcmncl.dll file.

Note The Polcmncl.dll file is located in the following path:

%SystemDrive%\Polcmncl.dll
