SYMPTOMS

Usage information for an application is missing from utilization reports in Microsoft SoftGrid.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if one of the following conditions is true:

  • The Provider Pipeline Log Usage Information option is not enabled.
  • The application name or the application version that is listed in the SoftGrid Management Console does not match the information in the .osd file.

RESOLUTION

To verify the Provider Pipeline Log Usage Information option is enabled, follow these steps:

  1. Close all client sessions.
  2. From Administrative Tools, open the SoftGrid Management Console.
  3. Expand SoftGrid Systems, expand Server_name, and then expand Provider Policies.
  4. Double-click Default Provider, and then click the Provider Pipeline tab.
  5. Click to select the Log Usage Information check box, and then click OK.
  6. Click OK when you receive the following message:

You must restart the SoftGrid Virtual Application Server services on all SoftGrid Servers before they will reflect the changes made to this Provider Policy.

  7. Stop and then restart the SoftGrid Virtual Application Server service.

To verify that the application name or the application version in the SoftGrid Management Console matches the information in the .osd file, follow these steps:

  1. From Administrative Tools, open the SoftGrid Management Console.
  2. Expand SoftGrid Systems, expand Server_name, and then expand Applications.
  3. Double-click the application name that is not being reported.
  4. Note the application name and the application version.
  5. Locate the .osd file.
  6. Use a text editor to open the .osd file, and then modify the file so that the application name and application version match the information in the SoftGrid Management Console.
