SYMPTOMS

When you try to open a Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 form from a hyperlink, you may receive the following error message:

Insufficient Security privilege. The form cannot be opened because it requests domain security level and is only allowed restricted security level.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because InfoPath 2007 cannot correctly determine the published location of the form template when several very large URLs are in the Windows Internet Explorer cache. Therefore, InfoPath 2007 assumes that the form template is from an untrusted source and assigns the form a restricted security level.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps, depending on the version of Internet Explorer that you are running.

Internet Explorer 6

  1. Start Internet Explorer 6.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. On the General tab, click Delete Files under Temporary Internet files.
  4. In the Delete Files dialog box, click to select the Delete all offline content check box, and then click OK.

Note If the problem persists, you may have to click Clear History under History in the Internet Options dialog box.

Internet Explorer 7

  1. Start Internet Explorer 7.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. On the General tab, click Delete under Browsing history.
  4. In the Delete Browsing History dialog box, click Delete files under Temporary Internet Files.
  5. Click Yes.

Note If the problem persists, you may have to click Delete History under History in the Delete Browsing History dialog box.
