SYMPTOMS

When you try to display totals for an axis or try to select items for a background in ProClarity Desktop Professional and in ProClarity Web Professional, you receive the following error message:

Query Failed

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you do not have the permission to access the members of the root level of the hierarchy in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services or in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services.

Note You specify the hierarchy on the axis.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, obtain the permission to access the members of the root level of the hierarchy.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
