The WITH MEMBER clause for a custom member is lost after you locate a different dimension in ProClarity Desktop Professional or in ProClarity Web Professional

Article ID: 930654

Article Last Modified on 2/22/2007

APPLIES TO

  • ProClarity Desktop Professional 6.1
  • ProClarity Desktop Professional 6.2
  • ProClarity Web Professional 6.1
  • ProClarity Web Professional 6.2

SYMPTOMS

When you use a custom member in a query in ProClarity Desktop Professional or in ProClarity Web Professional, the WITH MEMBER clause is lost in the query after you change the current dimension to a different dimension. This problem occurs when you create the custom member by using the WITH MEMBER clause.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because you can only use the WITH MEMBER clause to create a custom member for a current query. After you locate a different dimension, the WITH MEMBER clause is lost in the Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) query.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, create a calculated member by using the WITH MEMBER clause, and then use the newly created calculated member in a query.
