SUMMARY
When you try to start the Microsoft SoftGrid 3.x Client, the program does not respond, and you receive the following error message:
When this problem occurs, the following entry is logged in the SoftGrid Client log file (Sftlog.txt):
Additionally, the following entry is logged in the SoftGrid Virtual Application Server log file (Sft-server.log):
CAUSE
This problem can occur if the following condition is true:
- The SoftGrid Client did not enumerate registry keys.
WORKAROUND
Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.
The SoftGrid Client may not enumerate the following registry subkeys:
- Suite Reference Count
- Users
These subkeys are located under the following registry subkey if they contain many subkeys and values:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Softricity\SoftGrid Client\CurrentVersion
To work around this problem, remove all relevant subkeys and values from the registry. To remove and to create the subkeys, follow these steps:
- Start Registry Editor.
- Expand
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Softricity\SoftGrid Client\CurrentVersion
. - Right-click CurrentVersion, click Export, and then save the .reg file.
- Right-click Suite Reference Count. Then click Delete.
- Right-click Users. Then click Delete.
- Right-click CurrentVersion, point to New, and then click Key.
- In the New Key #1 field, type Suite Reference Count.
- Right-click Suite Reference Count. Then click Permissions.
- Select Everyone, click Full Control, and then click OK.
- Right-click CurrentVersion, point to New, and then click Key.
- In the New Key #1 field, type Users.
- Right-click Users. Then click Permissions.
- Select Everyone, click Full Control, and then click OK.
- Exit Registry Editor.
If the permissions that are listed in this procedure are not configured appropriately, the program will not stream and you will receive error xxxxxx-xxxxxx46-0000001B.

MORE INFORMATION
As users open programs, the subkeys and the values will be re-created. Over time, the error code that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section may reoccur. If that occurs, you must repeat this procedure.
STATUS
This problem has been corrected in Microsoft SoftGrid Client 4.0.x.
