This article describes the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services issue that is fixed in the Windows SharePoint Services hotfix package that is dated January 9, 2007.

INTRODUCTION
Issue that the hotfix package fixes
This hotfix package fixes the following issue that not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
The daylight saving time dates for the (GMT+08:00) Perth time zone definition in the Timezone.xml file must be updated for the years 2006 to 2009
The daylight saving time start dates and end dates for the (GMT+08:00) Perth time zone have changed as follows for the years 2006 to 2009:
- For the year 2006 to 2007:
- Daylight saving time starts on the first Sunday of December
- Daylight saving time ends on the last Sunday of March
- For the year 2007 to 2008 and for the year 2008 to 2009:
- Daylight saving time starts on the last Sunday of October
- Daylight saving time ends on the last Sunday of March
The Timezone.xml file in Windows SharePoint Services must be updated to reflect the changes in daylight saving time start dates and end dates.

Prerequisites
The following list contains prerequisites for the hotfix package:
- The full-file version of this hotfix is also the administrative version of this hotfix. You can install this version of the hotfix on a computer that is running Windows SharePoint Services Service Pack 2 or Windows SharePoint Services Service Pack 1. However, we have tested this hotfix more extensively on Windows SharePoint Services Service Pack 2 than on Windows SharePoint Services Service Pack 1. If you install this hotfix on a computer that is running Windows SharePoint Services Service Pack 1, some file conflicts might occur. We support this configuration, but we do not recommend it.
Restart information
You do not have to restart your computer after you apply this hotfix.
Hotfix replacement information
This hotfix is not replaced by any later hotfix.

To use one of the hotfixes in this package, you do not have to make any changes to the registry.
