Error message when you try to connect to the SoftGrid Management Web Service from the SoftGrid Management Console: "Unable to log into the SoftGrid System. Error code: 0000C805"

SYMPTOMS

When you try to connect to the SoftGrid Management Web Service from the SoftGrid Management Console, the connection is unsuccessful. Additionally, you receive the following error message:

Unable to log into the SoftGrid System.
The Management Console timed out trying to connect to the specified SoftGrid System. Please try again. If the problem continues, please report the following error code to your system administrator.
Error code: 0000C805

CAUSE

This issue occurs if the following conditions are true:

  • You click to select the Use Secure Connection check box in the Configure Connection dialog box.
  • The port that is specified in the Port box is listening on the Web Service host name that is specified.

The port is not the SSL port.
