Error message when you add a new package by using the SoftGrid Management Console: "Error code: 0000BD34"

SUMMARY

When you add a new package with the SoftGrid Management Console, you may receive the following error message:

Unable to create '{package_name}'. The Package GUID is already in use by package '{package_name}'. Please specify a different Softricity file Error code: 0000BD34

Additionally, the SoftGrid Management Console log file, that is named the Sftmmc.log file, reports the following:

ManagementConsole.MCException: The package ({package_guid}) already exists. ---> SoftGrid.Management.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur when the .SFT file that is being specified for the package version is already specified for another package version. When you add a new package, and then specify a .SFT file that is already specified for another package, an error code is displayed.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, verify that the appropriate .SFT file is being specified.
