SYMPTOMS

When you try to install the Windows Anytime Upgrade license package on a Windows Vista-based computer, you receive an error message that resembles the following:

Cannot Install License Package

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you try to install an x64 version of a Windows Vista upgrade on an x86 version of Windows Vista.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install a Windows Vista upgrade whose architecture matches the architecture of the installed version of Windows Vista.
