SYMPTOMS

When you try to use the Get command in Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 2005 to retrieve versions of binary files from the history, the binary files may be corrupted. Additionally, these files differ from the files that you retrieve by using Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 6.0.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that this article describes. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
