SYMPTOMS
When you try to install Microsoft Windows Live OneCare, you receive the following error message together with error code 14-80072EFD, 14-80072EE7, or 14-80040111:
CAUSE
OneCare cannot connect to the Internet, or another problem is preventing OneCare from detecting the active Internet connection.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, use the following methods in the order in which they are presented.
Method 1: Troubleshoot Internet connectivity issues
- Make sure that you are connected to the Internet. Windows Live OneCare installation will not likely succeed if there are Internet connectivity issues. - Reinstall Windows Live OneCare.
If you continue to receive the same error message, try Method 2.
Method 2: Disable the "Automatically Detect Settings" option in Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Start Internet Explorer.
- On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN Settings.
- Clear the Automatically detect settings check box, and then click OK.
- Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.
- Reinstall Windows Live OneCare.
If you continue to receive the same error message, try Method 3.
Method 3: Remove third-party antivirus programs and firewall programs

- Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
- Under Currently installed programs, locate any third-party antivirus programs or firewall programs.
- Click the program, and then click Remove.
- Repeat step 3 for any additional programs.
- Restart the computer.
- Reinstall Windows Live OneCare.
