SYMPTOMS

Trying to run the Microsoft Visual Basic for MS-DOS environment on an Apple Macintosh with an MS-DOS card may result in unpredictable results.

If you try to run Visual Basic for MS-DOS on this type of hardware configuration, various problems including the screen clearing itself and redrawing itself, the menu bar being painted incorrectly, gray blocks appearing in various places on the screen, etc. can occur.

CAUSE

Microsoft did not design Microsoft Visual Basic for MS-DOS to be run on an Apple Macintosh with an MS-DOS card. We do not guarantee that the Microsoft Visual Basic for MS-DOS environment will work correctly on these cards.

STATUS

This behavior is by design. The Microsoft Visual Basic for MS-DOS environment was designed to be run only from IBM-compatible computers using the MS-DOS operating system.
