APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Office Excel 2007

SYMPTOMS

When you open a workbook that contains a chart in Microsoft Office Excel 2007, the chart axis that is configured to be displayed in a date format may have a different date format than expected.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the workbook was last saved when the date format in the Regional and Language Options dialog box was configured to use a different date format than the format in which the chart axis was originally formatted.

Note To access the Regional and Language Options dialog box in Microsoft Windows XP, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Regional and Language Options.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, reformat the chart axis to use the date format that matches the date format in the Regional and Language Options dialog box.

To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click the chart axis that contains the date, and then click Format Axis.
  2. Click Number, and then click Date under Category. Under Type, click the date format that matches the date format in the Regional and Language Options dialog box.
  3. Click Close.
