The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft FoxBASE+ for MS-DOS, version 2.1
SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft FoxBASE+ for MS-DOS, when the REPLACE command is used to change the contents of a field named "RECORD," an "Unrecognized phrase/keyword in command" error occurs because the word "record" is a scope clause.
For example, the following FoxBASE+ code returns the error listed above:
replace record with "SOMETEXT"
NOTE: The "unrecognized phrase/keyword in command" error does not occur in Microsoft FoxPro version 2.0 for MS-DOS.
CAUSE
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in Microsoft FoxBASE+ version 2.1 for MS-DOS.
RESOLUTION
This problem was corrected in Microsoft FoxPro version 2.5 for MS-DOS, and in Microsoft FoxPro version 2.5 for Windows.
