SYMPTOMS
You insert a blank DVD into the recordable DVD drive of a Windows Vista based-computer and then try to use the Create CD/DVD wizard to write to the DVD. After you do this, you may receive the following error message:
CAUSE
This issue may occur because the recordable DVD drive does not support the type of DVD that you inserted. For example, some recordable DVD drives support only DVD+R discs or DVD-R discs. These drives do not recognize DVD+RW discs or DVD-RW discs. See your hardware documentation for more information about the type of DVD disc that a DVD drive supports.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use the type of DVD that the recordable DVD drive supports. For example, make sure that you use a DVD-RW disc in a drive that supports DVD-RW.
