SYMPTOMS
When you use a Media Center Extender device to play an MPEG movie in Windows Vista, the movie's sound may not play. Additionally, the Finished page does not appear when the video is finished.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when the movie's audio track uses 2-channel AC3 (Dolby Digital) audio that has a sample rate of 144 kilohertz (kHz). Media Center Extender cannot translate this sample rate.
