SYMPTOMS
When Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 calculates the extended amount for an opportunity product, the value that is in the Tax ($) field of the Opportunity Product form is not considered. Therefore, the value is incorrect in the Extended Amount ($) field. Additionally, if you create a quote, an order, or an invoice from the Opportunity form, the tax for the opportunity product is not automatically populated in the quote, in the order, or in the invoice that you created.
This problem occurs after you add the Tax field to the Opportunity Product form by using the Customize Entities feature.
RESOLUTION
This problem is fixed in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Update Rollup 2. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

MORE INFORMATION
The Tax Attribute value cannot be transferred to the quote, to the order, or to the invoice if you use the Microsoft CRM 3.0 laptop client and if you are working offline. This problem can be resolved only when you are online in the Microsoft CRM 3.0 laptop client.
