APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition for Itanium-based Systems
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Datacenter Edition for Itanium-Based Systems

SYMPTOMS

On an Itanium-based computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, a user dump file may contain incorrect values for some generic registers. These registers include registers r4 to r7.

The register values incorrectly change to constant values between the first-chance exception and the second-chance exception. Then, the incorrect values are written to the user dump file.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the NT kernel does not report the correct register values to the debugger.
