APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services

SYMPTOMS

When you update the field metadata of a Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 list by using Microsoft FrontPage remote procedure calls (RPC), the field values are invisible on the page.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, combine a data type and an access level from the following lists of characters when you update the field metadata.

Note If you use characters that are not in these lists, data may not be displayed correctly.

Data type

  • B: Boolean

Note This character has a value of "true" or "false." You can use "1" as a substitute for "true."

  • F: File system time
  • I: Signed integer
  • S: String
  • T: Time
  • V: String vector

Access level

  • R: You can see the metadata key in the FrontPage user interface. For example, you can see the vti_author key. However, you cannot change the key.
  • W: You can see and change the metadata key by using the FrontPage user interface.
  • X: You cannot see the metadata key in the FrontPage user interface.
