SYMPTOMS

A High Definition (HD) audio device may not play audio files after you update the BIOS on a Windows Vista-based computer.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the BIOS update changes the pin configuration of the HD audio device.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, you must reinstall the drivers for the HD audio device, and then restart the computer.
