The buttons in the Zune software dialog box may be clipped

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Zune software to update your Zune device, to give your Zune device a name, or to set sync options, the following buttons at the bottom of the Zune software dialog box may be clipped:

  • Back
  • Next
  • Cancel


CAUSE

This issue may occur if you use a custom DPI setting in Display Properties in Microsoft Windows.

THINGS TO TRY

  1. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE.
  2. If Windows Task Manager does not open, click Task Manager.
  3. On the Applications tab, click Zune, and then click End Task.
  4. On the File menu, click Exit Task Manager.
  5. Change the font DPI.

    For Microsoft Windows XP, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, click Run, type desk.cpl, and the click OK.
    2. On the Settings tab, click Advanced.
    3. In the DPI setting list in the Display area on the General tab, click Normal size (96 DPI).
    4. Click OK to confirm the change.
    5. Click OK, and then click Yes to use the existing font files.
    6. Click Close, and then click Yes to restart the computer.

    For Windows Vista, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
    2. Click Appearance and Personalization.
    3. Click Personalization.
    4. Under Tasks, click Adjust font size (DPI).
    5. Click Default scale (96 DPI) – fit more information.
    6. Click OK to confirm the change.
    7. Click Restart Now.
