SYMPTOMS
You experience performance issues when you run applications that use the Oleaut32.dll file or the Asycfilt.dll file on a computer that is running an Itanium-based version of Microsoft Windows Server 2003. For example, you experience slower than expected performance when certain operations are performed in Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services.
CAUSE
This issue occurs because the Oleaut32.dll file and the Asycfilt.dll file in an Itanium-based version of Windows Server 2003 do not include certain compiler optimizations.
RESOLUTION
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
